WANTED: Knight In Shining Armor! |
|
By Michele Starkey |
"Single
female, searching for the perfect
relationship…" or, "Looking for Mr. Right,
my knight in shining armor."
Seems like
everyone is searching for the perfect
relationship. Perhaps Jesus ought to run a
personals ad. It might read like this:
"All I want is
you. I don't care if you're overweight,
underweight, have freckles or dimples. You
don't have to have any money or hold any
titles, in fact, I don't care about your
past - what you've done or didn't do.
Nothing matters to me if you'll just give
your heart to me. In return, I promise that
I will be with you forever and never leave
you or forsake you. I will stay with you
into eternity. I'll prepare a room in a
mansion after your earthly retirement, but
until then, your earthly needs will all be
met. You will want for nothing. I will
even take you when you are moody or
depressed. I will wipe your tears when they
flow and take your hand when you are
afraid. I am the greatest comforter. I
understand your pressures and anxieties - I
have fed the multitudes at the drop of a hat
and on a moment's notice. I understand when
you need your space and will offer it to
you; I also find comfort in solitary
moments. If you want to have a relationship
with me, all you have to do is ask. Do not
be afraid of rejection, I have never turned
anyone down. And, if you falter in our
relationship, I promise to take you back. I
give you my oath with my blood. I would die
for you - I already did. Call on me,
anytime, I would love to have a
relationship. Just send me a knee-mail.
Love, Jesus."
Sounds too good to be true? It's not. It's
real. Jesus can be your knight in shining
armor. He would die for you. He already
did.
