This is the
section you have been waiting for!! At this point you can look
around and be proud of how far you have come instead of feeling
dread over how far you need to go. The glass is over half full
and not half empty. Have you ever watched a special on TV, or
your children perform in a school play where you felt so much
pride it brought tears to your eyes? That is how God feels about
you right now for coming this far and not giving up.
We all wish we
can say a prayer and BANG! The answer would drop from the sky.
Although that does happen occasionally I find that with matters
of the heart we are being refined for a purpose and that takes
some time. The good thing is that we come out of the fire way
better than when we went in. I am often asked why God doesn't
just answer prayers in an instant. Being that I am not God I can
only assume that the reason He does this is because if we got
what we wanted when we wanted it, there would be no need for us
to have faith. He wants us to believe in Him no matter how bad
it gets and if He simply gave you what you wanted when you
wanted it, you would go off and focus on the thing He gave you
instead of focusing on Him. How sad to be a parent and give your
children the world only to have them ignore you and only spend
time with you when they need something. How would you feel?
The Bible says
that "The prayers of a righteous man availeth much" (James
5:16). Do you have any idea what it takes to be righteous? I do
all right until I get out of bed in the morning and then it goes
down hill. The Bible tells us of the basic rules or commandments
we should be following but with people living in the flesh as
deeply as we do in this age just TRY to tell them to live
according to the Ten Commandments. The sad part is that those
rules have been written to conform to any age. It is not the
mere words we find within each commandment it is the principle
that is embedded within them for eternity.
We travel
through life with choices. God has blessed us with a free will
to choose right from wrong and He will NEVER override your free
will. The most popular way is not always the righteous way.
Living a righteous life requires us to take the path less
traveled and sometimes that path is tough to navigate than the
one that is traveled frequently. (Mathew 7:13-14) When we live
an upright life God listens to our prayers and He answers them.
Take some time
to learn what being righteous is. You'll be surprised at how far
we tend to stray during the course of our lives...
